Connected with Nature
It’s interesting how themes from past lives return to play over and over again in our lives. It seems that those situations are repeated in several lives to make sure we’re learning our lessons. Or, perhaps it’s another opportunity for us to break out of the cycle.
One of my clients visited multiple separate past lives where she spent time reflecting and connecting with nature. Amber in 1800’s America would find time in her daily walks to town to stop on the stone bridge and listen to the water. She would soak in the sounds of birds singing, feel the gentle breezes, listen for the sounds of frogs, and watch the fish swim contentedly under the bridge. It was her favorite place. She felt part of the world when she was here. A sweet part of her day when she didn’t have to rush or take care of the kids or her ailing parents. All she had to do was be a part of nature. It replenished her spirit.
Gabrielle in 1500’s Scotland took time to walk through the fields or the meadows. She would use the walk to notice the beauty of a sunny day; she’d watch the grains and grasses sway in the cool breezes and feel her hair blow in the wind. She’d use the excuse of going out to look for herbs, but it was really a chance to renew. Gabrielle said that the walks allowed her to clear her head.
As our cities and civilizations today become ever larger and more populous, it’s hard to imagine that those lives in the past were anything but rural existences. How could the farmer’s wife not be connected to nature? Yet even then and there, this soul found a need to step away from life and become one with the world. I see this need in most souls that I work with. We need a place to feel part of nature. We need a time to be away from our responsibilities. We need time to reflect and replenish.
So I encourage you to find time in your day. Take a walk at lunch or after dinner like Amber. Sit on a park bench and watch the geese eating the grass. Go out into the field and simply watch the grains sway in the breezes like Gabrielle. Feel the sun beaming down on your face. Your soul will benefit from the connectedness. Smile and soak it all in.
